This new addition to Cahuita’s coffee houses offers an interesting and stylish decor with plenty of outdoor seating.  Enjoy eggs, salads and sandwiches all served on crusty homemade Italian bread.  Coffee, cappuccino , desserts and juice drinks also served.

Cool down with one of Jocelyn and Priscila’s froazen treats. This dynamic mother/daughter duo serve up crepes filled with friut and chcolate topped with ice cream, sundaes, banana splits or waffle cones and cups always with a smile. Coffee, fruit shakes, soft drinks.  Sit and relax in the shade while the kids play in the playground right in front.

Open:  Monday-Sunday., Hours: 2pm-9pm, Location: In front of Coco’s Bar and next to Walter’s La Fe Restauruant.


Escape the heat and try one of Paolo’s  s Italian sandwiches with quality imported coldcuts and homemade bread.  After lunch, choose from a tempting assortments of desserts to accompany your coffee, capuchino or espresso. Free WiFi and a gentle breeze.

Location: Around the corner from bus stop, next to Car wash, in front of Cabinas Cahuita.

La Nonna

Is run by Italian grandmother, Renata from her home bakery on the corner opposite the primary school.  Sit and enjoy her great coffee and bread, pizzas or a pastry, or buy to take away.  Try the Nutella pastry.

Open:  7am-11am

Guy’s Bakery

Is run by Frenchman, Guy, with pastries and breads with a French flavor.  Enjoy good quality coffee with a pan au chocolat or an afternoon snack.

Open: Tuesday–Saturday, from 6:00 am — 4:00 pm. Sundays, 6:00 am until sold out

The Patty Stand

Is a Cahuita institution with folks driving down from Limon at the weekend for tasty pastries filled with spicy meat, pineapple or plantain.  Wash them down with a thirst-quenching cup of homemade ginger ale. Sundays only try their Rice & Beans. A juicy coconut flavored rice with juicy chicken and a side salad. Come at opening because sells out fast.

Open: weekends from 11:00 am until they sell out, or  listen for the horn-honking bike on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons for the mobile patty.

Donald’s fruit stand

Is located at the bridge into the National Park and so is the perfect spot to pick up healthy hiking snacks.  Bagged pineapple or green mango with chile and salt are popular choices.

Open: from about 10:00 am until park closing

Brigitte’s Breakfast

Spot is located in Playa Negra in her Horse Ranch and Cabinas.  She serves fresh fruit, pinto and eggs, pancakes and other breakfast goodies in a private spot.

Open 7am-11am located up the road in between Reggae Bar and Chao’s Paradise.
